The Arboretum is an ongoing collaboration between New Leaf Society and the City of Burlington that began in 2017.

A joint grand opening celebration was held in June 2023. The Arboretum is NLS’s largest project to date, with an initial investment of $2.5 million.

The City owns and maintains the site, while NLS continues to raise funds for the care and development of current and future collections. Recommendations are made by a City Council-appointed Advisory Board that includes horticultural experts, City staff, NLS representatives, and citizens.

In 2025, the Arboretum will undergo a master planning process with public input to identify future opportunities for the site. To inquire about sponsoring a new garden or feature, please contact info@newleafsociety.org.
